G1000 diagram

I have been working on flying with the G1000 and the GFC500 autopilot in an SR20.

Does anyone know of a good diagram of the states and modes of these?

The manual has a lot of very detailed descriptions along the line of - to do this, take these steps - but I would like something more like a diagram that helps me visualize the modes and the transitions.

You mean something like a menu or mode tree?
I have seen those and they are handy for understanding all the different items that might pop up.

But I am thinking more of like a state machine diagram. You are presently in VPTH verticaL mode with an ALTV to capture and you press the APR button, what happens and under what conditions.

So Max Trescott’s book “G1000 and Perspective Glass Cockpit Handbook” is actualLy rather useful on autopilots as well. It does not contain the state diagram, but does have good descriptive text compared to the Garmin manual which helps with building an understanding.
