Is This Greeting Card in Bad Taste?

Is This Greeting Card in Bad Taste?

It's actually for anyone who wants it. The whole site will be devoted to cards for unusual occasions. The kind of cards that Hallmark doesn't sell. Knowing that my own sense of humor leans toward the macabre, however, I sought additional opinions about that one. There's no point in putting out...

Is This Greeting Card in Bad Taste?

I'm looking for the right level of macabre. That seems to be a bit much. My brother called me about something or other the morning of the day I first soloed. I mentioned to him that I would be soloing later that day, and he asked me for the address of the morgue so he would know where to go to...

Snake on a plane - really.

Probably slithered through a lightening hole and is lurking in the airframe somewhere.

Is This Greeting Card in Bad Taste?

Hmm... Maybe I should change the poster images from webp's to jpg's.

Is This Greeting Card in Bad Taste?

Not that I'm worried about it. I'm just curious. https://weirdgreetings.com/failed-pilot-test-1.php Thanks!

Ye Olde Bernoulli vs Newton debate

Conceptually, I think Bernoulli makes a lot more sense if one thinks of the upper camber of a conventional wing as half a venturi that creates a partial vacuum. Newton's contribution is to induce rotation around the axes, as well as creating some lift by way of positive angle of incidence. The...

Yes lasers are dangerous to shine at aircraft - but ...

Maybe equip airliners with AGM's and aim them at the lasers? Instead of an explosive charge fill them with blue dye so the cops can just look for the blue guy and arrest him.

FAA reports that BasicMed as safe as Third Class medical

In my opinion, a driver's license and a color-vision test (not all states require one) should be enough for all non-commercial flight in aircraft under 12,500 pounds. The BFR will catch those who simply aren't fit to fly, despite not yet being too blind or senile to find the DMV. Medicals for...

    Some Winter Practice Flying

I tweaked the color in Resolve, re-rendered it, and re-uploaded it. It seems to have helped some. White is more of a challenge than one would think.

Yes lasers are dangerous to shine at aircraft - but ...

The problem is that politicians, by and large, are paraphilic control freaks who get their rocks off by dominating others. Education may be the more sensible approach, but it doesn't make them hard.

    Some Winter Practice Flying

There are a few animal tracks here and there. At 1:25 you can see some coming off the corner of the house. Vimeo's transcoding seemed to mess with this video quite a bit. I think the white threw it off. I may re-edit it with the colors shifted a little red and the saturation reduced on the...

The magic wand of legislation. If people are doing something that's illegal, let's make it even more illegal.

    Some Winter Practice Flying

I had to scrub this morning's planned mission due to visibility and icing conditions, but I did manage to get some local practice in in between the blizzards. The video is in 4K/60, but it may take a while before Vimeo transcodes the higher-definition versions.
