Anyone seen a $5 footlong lately? I went into a Subway last week and it was $5.25, I thought it was a fluke because of the location of the store, but I went in today in IA and it was also $5.25. Hmmmmmmm?

Friends don't let friends eat at chain restaurants. Ever.

With so many wonderful mom & pop small businesses to choose from, why would anyone eat that stuff?

A lot of those chains are really franchised, and the owners are "moms and pops."

However, for the most part, high-dollar lodging is priced that way solely to keep the riff-raff out. You pretty quickly reach the point where there are simply no more substantive amenities to add.

Sounds like high-dollar eating establishments with lots of "atmosphere...."
