Midair near Soldotna, AK

Beaver on floats from a local flying service and a small Piper. 7 total passengers. 6 fatalities so far. I have met the pilot of the Aztec. He was a local contractor and politician.

Article says it was a Piper Super Cruiser, not an Aztec. Picture would seem to confirm a rag & tube single engine.

Been a bad month for midair collisions, Lake Coeur d'Alene, Nevada yesterday, now this; second DHC Beaver floatplane full of passengers.

Very sad for both families. And loss of a classic plane as well.
