The biggest gotchas

From my years of reading the medical forums I would say the most frequent problems that unexpectedly trip up would be pilots are the following:

1) being prescribed ADHD meds as a kid no matter how short a time you took them
2) being prescribed antidepressants at any time for any reason
3) having a DUI in your history

These three things comprise a large chunk of the students who get in trouble by going ahead and submitting the application without understanding the ramifications. At least from what I can tell from posts.

That’s not an exhaustive list by any means, but if you have one of these three very common issues, doing the consult first before going live is highly recommended.

I remember a few people in ROTC who got booted out for psychiatric drugs that used to be handed out like candy at the "student mental health center." Granted that was so long ago that a number of things which would be pedestrian now were then strictly forbidden then.
