    Flying pictures worth sharing.

Very nice boat, the Cal 28. Sailing and flying have much in common, as I'm sure you know... and both can be hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror. I do like the quiet of sailing and the smell of all the fresh air, compared to the confines and noise of a plane's cockpit, but...

    Flying pictures worth sharing.

Here's one of my favorite local-ish "challenging" airport, Beck's Grove. The paved part isn't much wider than the main gear, and there's one or two trees off the runway ends... :)

I think it was late September, 2020.

    Flying pictures worth sharing.

This is an airport/racetrack not too far from my home field. The straight section behind the line of trees in the middle of the photo (taken from my plane) doubles as a runway when the track is not in use. It's in use in the pic, so I didn't land.. ;) ...and this is a pic of our marina...

"Overly Pedantic" would be a great name for a math metal band. ...thread related pic to follow as apology for drift.....

    Removing EXIF data from pictures…

Thanks, Jim. That's a really nice, considerate feature for a public forum to have.

    Ownership decision/Insurance thoughts?

That certainly wasn't my intention. I like to sow confusion and leave a trail of chaos behind me wherever I go. Unfortunately, without owning an airplane, I have more time on my hands now...🥺 ;)

    Who says PA28s can't climb?

Low wing, north up gets my vote. I feel much more strongly about the north up part than I do the low vs high wing choice. 😄

    Removing EXIF data from pictures…

One could always switch universes... ;) I know,.. not helpful. I wish I could answer your question, but other than using some Apple products in my previous life as a public school teacher, I have no experience with Apple products. For anyone reading the thread who has a similar question on...

    Inflatable airplane?

Interesting concept. Years ago I had a cheap inflatable catamaran.. the pontoons were inflatable. The lack of rigidity made the thing pretty much unsailable.. it wouldn't point into the wind at all, and there were quite a few times I couldn't get back to the dock under sail. Seems like similar...

Will an airplane engine failure on takeoff cause an aerodynamic stall?

During my most recent flight review a few weeks ago, while doing power-on stalls in a PA28-140 at 4000'AGL, my CFI had me place the airplane into a very aggressive climb attitude until a full stall developed, and then told me to completely release all controls.. hands off the yoke, feet off the...

    Ownership decision/Insurance thoughts?

After owning a PA28-140 for many years with two partners, then buying one out, then buying the other out and becoming sole owner for the last four years or so (and that was, BY FAR, the most enjoyable part of the ownership), and coming to the realization that the ebbs and flows of my daily life...

    Zephyr Drone - Yuma AZ - 18 Aug 22

Out of curiosity, how did the 172 engine run non-stop for almost 1600 hours... without an oil change or burning some oil? Heck, that's not all that far from TBO!

Pilot Threatens Passenger Sending Nude Photos Via AirDrop: ‘Vacation Is Going To Be Ruined’

I'll stick to meeting new people and talking to them face to face. If pictures are wished to be shared, they can be shown from the owner's hand. Life presents enough gambles for me without opening cyber doors to strangers!

    Severe alcoholism

I understand your points and concerns, and share them. Having said that, people can and DO make powerful changes in themselves. Removing any possibility of redemption seems unnecessarily cruel, and also removes a very powerful incentive for one to MAKE those important life-saving changes. As...
