Interesting concept. Years ago I had a cheap inflatable catamaran.. the pontoons were inflatable. The lack of rigidity made the thing pretty much unsailable.. it wouldn't point into the wind at all, and there were quite a few times I couldn't get back to the dock under sail. Seems like similar challenges would be found with flexibility preventing flight surfaces from maintaining predictable consistent orientations?
