    Who says PA28s can't climb?

Its the "after ditching" part that worries me. In all months except August, your survival time in the water is measured in minutes due to the cold temps...at least surface temps in August are in the low 70s, and you'd have a few hours. And it goes: low wing, track up...of course! LOL

An airline rescued 1 of its 4 Airbus planes stranded in Ukraine in a daring stealth mission at low altitude

"Just 10,000"? If it were me, 500 feet would have been fine...although maybe then the Ukrainians would shoot them down.

    Who says PA28s can't climb?

Living in Michigan, surrounded on three sides by large expanses of water, I have learned that GA can definitely reduce huge chunks of travel time vs driving...IF...you are willing to fly over those large, cold lakes. During any time other than August (when the lakes are actually warmish) I will...

The Humiliating History of the TSA

The SSSS? Hey TSA, Nazi much??? LOL. I could guess what that officially stands for, but I would personally call it the "Secondary Screening $hit Show" LOL.

The Humiliating History of the TSA

I can't find the article now...I seem to recall that someone else was upset, and you were speaking with them to calm them down, but because you used the words "terrorist" (I think) they then didn't allow you to fly.

The Humiliating History of the TSA

Funny that when I had lost the link to this forum, I tried searching under @PeterNSteinmetz 's name to find the forum again...I see from an article that shows Peter has experience with just how ridiculous TSA can be! Anything ever come of that Peter (talking about the statements made in line)...

ADS-B art, an alternative to the $100 hamburger.

Like most pilots, I'm always looking for an excuse to fly. Kristine (my partner/co-pilot in flying and life) and I found this new way to burn some av gas: ADS-B art. I know of a guy in Canada that flies a Cirrus that makes some REALLY impressive drawings, and although mine don't quite reach...

The Humiliating History of the TSA

Another government monumental waste of money, and one of the main reasons I fly GA.

    Now that's a close call

Not an accident, but almost. Especially relevant to me right now, as I just missed a powered parachute the other day. I was flying into the sun at 4500 MSL (3500 AGL) and I just missed it off my left wing.

How have I never been suspected of drug smuggling?

This case is interesting...they suspected the plane was drug smuggling because the flight made frequent stops for fuel, frequent altitude and course changes, and at one point turned off its transponder for a whole THREE MINUTES (gasp!). This pretty much describes every flight I've ever made...
