You mean a simple still-air MPG number?

No I was looking for a list of GA aircraft, (more or less) telling which is most efficient.

Closest I've ever come is to go to a web site like http://www.risingup.com/planespecs/ and then take the claimed range for each airplane in their database and divide by the fuel capacity. That may get you a crude estimate for aircraft miles per gallon, then divide by number of seats to get passenger miles per gallon.

But that method is useful only to eliminate possibilities.
