DC-8s, Convair 880s and 707s could readily break the sound barrier in a dive I thought? I imagine many modern private jets still can and I have met a few pilots who claim to have done it. I always assumed it was the whisky talking, but it is not inherently incredible that lots of people are joining that club these days?

I still miss the old Concord, well maybe we all miss youth?
