Newbie here, needing recommendations on where to sell 2 airplanes.

I apologize if I'm not posting this in the correct spot. We have 2 airplanes that my husband has agreed to sell, but it seems to be taking him a great while to list them somewhere. He was kinda supposed to get rid of at least one before he bought a 3rd, but that didn't happen. Really getting tired of paying hangar fees, insurance and annuals for 3 airplanes, so I'm going to help him out. ;). Would the best route be a service that sells them for us? If so, which one?

Thanks!!

Wow! Thank you! I will need to ask him some questions tonight, as I don't know all the details. I'll list what I do know.

1958 Bonanza J35, Continental IO520 Beryl D'Shannon, not sure about SMOH.

2000 Vans RV8, Lycoming O360, 196 hp, 70 SMOH.

Hopefully all that makes sense. Looks clear as mud to me! :).
That's a good start. Not relevant to the selling and you don't need to answer, but out of curiosity, what is make and model of the plane that is being kept?

Several ways to determine asking price or what realistically they can sell for is to check both AOPA vref tool (requires AOPA membership and a login account: http://www.aopa.org/members/vref/ ) and the trade-a-plane.com NAAA tool (requires a paid account, here: http://www.trade-a-plane.com/naaa ) Trade-a-plane is also a good place to advertise and to check what current asking prices are. Though of course actual sales prices will be lower.

There are also airplane sales brokers. Some may have recommendations for your area.

You will not get proper advice on this forum for asking prices.

Thank you, Jim. The plane he is keeping is a Harmon Rocket. To be honest, I wouldn't mind having a second airplane, but would prefer that it be a six-seater, so we could fly places as a family. The other two we have are just dead weight, in my opinion.
I will look at the places you mentioned to get an idea of price. I'm pretty sure my husband has a membership to AOPA.
Yeah, if you desire lots of seats or load, then there does seem to be something missing in having an RV-8, a Bonanza, and a Harmon Rocket. Some redundancy there for a single pilot owner. If you are made of money, no problem, otherwise...

More curiosity: Did he build or buy the RV-8 and/or Harmon Rocket?

By the way, there is a classified ad section on this web forum devoted to RV's where the RV-8 can be listed just by creating an account:
