Only about 3000' MSL. Originally I thought maybe tricky mountainous terrain nearby, but doesn't look too bad on Google Earth.

The aircraft even looks slow in the video.

I guess the usual cautions about the quality of pilotage in 3rd world countries applies.

There’s actually video from inside the aircraft of the crash…someone was doing a “FaceTime live” recording. I don’t recommend watching it, it’s quite horrifying.

Nepal airplane crash possibly caused by pilot choosing wrong lever

A plane crash in Nepal that claimed 72 lives in January has been attributed to pilot error following the release of a preliminary report by the Nepalese Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission.
