72 likely fatalities. I wonder if some of the bad safety record of Nepali airlines is due to high DA? Sounds like this might have been a stall spin.

 
Only about 3000' MSL. Originally I thought maybe tricky mountainous terrain nearby, but doesn't look too bad on Google Earth.

The aircraft even looks slow in the video.

I guess the usual cautions about the quality of pilotage in 3rd world countries applies.
 
There’s actually video from inside the aircraft of the crash…someone was doing a “FaceTime live” recording. I don’t recommend watching it, it’s quite horrifying.
 
Is the video at all informative about what happened? The one I’ve seen just shows people inside they aircraft and then what appear to be flames developing.
