BasicMed and special issuance for MI

I currently fly under BasicMed. I had a SCAD heart attack last week with a full recovery expected. I'm interested in getting input from people who have gone through the special issuance process: How long it took, how complicated it was, etc. I'm trying to answer the "Is it worth it?" question (I'm only 60 and should have many flying years left).
